Albury Skate park
Delivered in partnership with Albury City Council, the Albury Skatepark has been transformed into a large-scale regional destination that supports progression, inclusion and community connection.
This project holds a special place for the Unearth team, as Albury is our local community. Seeing the impact the facility has had since opening has been incredibly rewarding. The skatepark has become more than just a place to ride—it has created opportunities for local youth, families, visitors and small businesses. Local coaching providers, including Al's Skate Co, regularly use the facility to run lessons, build confidence and introduce new riders to the sport.
Council's vision was to create a regional-level facility capable of supporting events, coaching, competitions and everyday recreation while meeting the needs of the broader Albury community. That vision has become a reality, with the skatepark now recognised as one of Australia's premier skate destinations. As noted by Skate Maps, it is regarded as "one of the best skateparks in NSW, if not the whole of Australia."
Beyond the riding experience, the facility has become a hub for community engagement. Albury City Council regularly activates the space through youth events, competitions, live music and come-and-try days, helping to foster a strong sense of belonging and connection within the community.
The success of the project has been recognised at both state and national levels, receiving:
2022 AILA NSW Parks and Open Space Award of Excellence
2022 AILA NSW Regional Achievement Award – Southern NSW
2022 AILA National Parks and Open Space Award
2022 AILA National Regional Achievement Award
2022 Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) NSW Commendation, alongside Albury City Council
The Albury Skatepark is a great example of what can be achieved when Council, designers and builders work together to create a facility that not only serves riders, but creates lasting benefits for the entire community.
